This year, SAFIRA expects to surpass €14 million, reinforce business in the UK, invest in the USA market, and study the dispersion of capital in the Warsaw stock exchange (NewConnect) to enhance inorganic growth by 2015. Regarding HR, the company plans to recruit 70 new employees, 50 in Portugal and 20 in Poland.
Oeiras, February 19, 2014 – SAFIRA, an IT consulting boutique known for transforming the way organizations do business or fulfill their missions with Smarter Processes, today announced its financial results for the year 2013 and outlook for 2014. In 2013 SAFIRA reached a turnover of €10,9 million, a 54 percent increase over the €7,1 million in previous year, well-above the initial goal of €8 million. In 2014 this value is expected to surpass €14 million, with 85 percent coming from exports.
Living its best year ever, SAFIRA has implemented projects in 15 countries across 4 continents, such as Angola, Switzerland, UAE, Germany, France, Chile, Denmark, Colombia, Belgium, Ecuador, United States and Ireland, besides Poland, UK and Spain where it has its own offices - international business represented 75 percent of revenues (in 2012 it was 61 percent). The UK is currently the most representative geography, contributing with €3 million.
Specialization has been one of the pillars of this growth - SAFIRA increasingly focuses and positions itself in the areas of BPM (Business Process Management), ODM (Operational Decision Management), and Mobility, being recognized as one of the major worldwide players in IBM technology. This offer already accounts for 72 percent of SAFIRA’s revenues.
With regard to Human Resources, at the end of 2013 the company had a staff of 175 employees, 70 recruited last year (55 in Portugal and 15 in Poland). The investment in training and team acknowledgement was once again reinforced with more than 13.000 training hours and 136 new certifications. For the 7th straight year, SAFIRA was distinguished as one of the Best Places to Work according to the independent study of Exame magazine. The year 2013 was also marked by the integration of several Portuguese companies into one juridical figure (SGPS and LDA included in SAFIRA Consultadoria SA), by the strengthening of the partnership with IBM through the deliverability of new skills, and with Microsoft in the Cloud area, in particular the positive go-live of ADENE project with Windows Azure solutions. SAFIRA recorded more than 60 active customers in 2013, with new projects developed in areas like banking in Colombia, Insurance in Portugal and in the UK, and Public Administration in Angola.
In 2014, SAFIRA expects to sustain double-digit growth, exceed a revenue of €14 million (85 percent outside Portugal), participate in large IT events (such as IBM Impact), and study the dispersion of capital in the Warsaw stock exchange (NewConnect) to enhance inorganic growth by 2015. SAFIRA will continue to reinforce its focus on process management and invest in the USA market, where it has started in late 2013 its first BPM project.
